PUPILS have been preparing and wrapping dozens of Christmas presents for less fortunate children in other countries.

Last year, through Operation Christmas Child, more than 1.2 million shoeboxes full of gifts and goodies were wrapped, packed and sent to disadvantaged children in Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Sutton Green Primary’s higher level teaching assistant, Mrs Payne, has been working with the Year 4 children to highlight the key issues of Personal Health and Social Education.

“The children have worked really hard on their packages, with great support from their parents and family,” she said.

“It is great to see how motivated the children are to help children less fortunate.”
