ON Tuesday, November 1, the Sustainable Blacon team is holding a convention to show how it has reduced its carbon footprint.

Held in the University of Chester’s Best Building in Parkgate Road, the event will run from 9am-5pm.

The convention will take a close look at what solutions have been found in the Sustainable Blacon project so far and how the team has addressed day-to-day issues and deals with environmental problems.

Experts, including MP Andrew Stunell, will examine how local people and organisations have helped to transform green spaces and buildings, as well as develop plans for the area and give other tips to help make communities more resilient and sustainable.

Guest keynote speakers will include Baroness Worthington of Cambridge, Chester Renaissance chairman Professor Steven Broomhead, Cllr Mike Jones and Gregory Barker, Minister of State for Energy and Climate Change.
