An award-winning floral display is going on view for all to enjoy.

Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Streetscene section scooped a gold medal for its On Yer Bike entry at the RHS Show Tatton Park. Elements of the display have now been installed on Chester Way roundabout in Northwich.

The cycling themed-design was chosen to celebrate the many cycle routes and beautiful scenery and history that Cheshire West and Chester has to offer.

The award-winning flower bed design simulates a pedal-powered tour through the historical and cultural sites of the area, incorporating key elements of the region’s heritage.

The Roman history of Chester, Winsford and Northwich’s salt connection and Ellesmere Port’s rich industry were all brought to life in the display.

If that’s not enough to encourage visitors to jump on their bikes and explore the region, the flower bed promotes the many bike trails and routes available such as the recent extension to the Greenway route.

The bike has been built by local firm Sandersons TCM, the wood carving of the helmet has been produced by Simon O’Rourke and the salt has been supplied by Salt Union Ltd, Winsford.
