CHILDREN and parents of Stanlaw Abbey Children’s Centre celebrated Bedtime Reading week by donning their pyjamas.
Daniel Spry, early years’ consultant at the Alnwick Drive centre, organised the event to promote how parents reading to their child at bedtime can build a close bond and get them interested in books. Parents and children who took part brought their favourite book to read.
Daniel then read a variety of bedtime stories throughout the day.
Pupils from also The Oaks Primary School also attended the event to read to the children. The children, parents and carers also had the opportunity to experience a camp fire in the centre’s wooded area and had toasted marshmallows.
