ELLESMERE Port’s Stanlaw Abbey Children's Centre is outstanding – and that’s official!
The Alnwick Drive facility became the first centre in Cheshire West and Chester to be inspected under the new Ofsted framework, which came into force in April 2010.
Inspectors visited Stanlaw Abbey over a two-day period and observed the activities on offer at the centre, held meetings with parents, made home visits and had discussions with staff.
The Ofsted report described the centre as ‘outstanding’ overall – making it one of the first in the country to achieve the rating.
The inspection also highlighted how well the centre was run and that parents saw it as their 'first port of call’ if they face difficulties.
Centre manager Ann Clay said: “I am so proud of the team here at Stanlaw Abbey Children’s Centre.
“This judgement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff.
“We will continue to work to the best of our ability to improve outcomes for children and families in our community.”
