SHOP workers were left scared and shaken after two knife-wielding men burst into a store and demanded cash from the tills.

The robbery was at McColls convenience store at Willow Square, on Winsford’s Wharton estate, at 9.30pm on Tuesday, October 7.

It is thought a significant amount of money was taken.

A police spokesperson said: “Two staff were cashing up the tills when two men entered the store.

“They threatened them with a knife, demanding they hand over the takings from two tills.

“Although the employees – local men aged 20 and 22 – were unhurt they were left scared and shaken.”

One of the robbers, who was carrying an 8in kitchen knife, was white and about 5ft 10in tall.

He was wearing a black coat with the hood up, black tracksuit bottoms and black shoes.

The coat had Location written in grey down the right sleeve.

The man, aged between 20 and 25 and had his mouth and nose covered by a mask.

He was also wearing gloves.

The second robber is about the same height and was wearing a blue Lonsdale hooded top, with the hood up and his face covered.

He was also carrying a large kitchen knife, but was not wearing gloves.
