THUDS, clatters and rattles are scary enough in a castle - but at Hallowe'en they can send a chill down the strongest spine.

Are you brave enough to visit Chirk Castle in the Llangollen Valley on Sunday to experience for yourself the shrieks and groans of spooks, ghouls, ghosts, witches, wizards, werewolves and vampires?

Children and parents alike are invited to put on their scariest costumes and fearlessly enter the eerie Adam Tower.

The bravest may even go down into the 30-metre-deep dungeon.

Smoking cauldrons, jack o'lanterns, spooky storytelling, chilling children's trails, bats, cobwebs, skeletons and headless bodies will all help to transform the castle into a creepy venue for families to enjoy some Hallowe'en fun and games.

Normal admission price applies, with free entry for children in scary costume. Free entry for National Trust members.

The garden and tearoom open at 11am, while the castle is open from noon-4pm. Last entry is at 3.30pm.
