WREXHAM boss Denis Smith has challenged young gun Mark Jones to rediscover his form and start terrorising League Two defences.
The midfielder returns to duty at the Racecourse against MK Dons today after his inclusion in the Wales squad for the recent Euro 2008 qualifiers against Slovakia and Cyprus.
“Although he didn’t play for Wales, Mark Jones has had a good few days, especially after being named Wales club player of the year,” said Wrexham boss Smith.
“He has been going through a bit of a poor spell for us and we could do with him showing what he is capable of.
“We all know he is a good player and generally he has done well, but we want him terrorising teams again as he did at the beginning of the season when he scored five goals in the first seven games.”
The Dragons need to get back to winning ways after a disastrous run of just one win in six games.
“The lads who have been away on international have all come back and seem quite perky,” added Smith.
“It’s frustrating that none of them figured for their countries. In a sense they might as well have stayed with us and played a league game last weekend.”
