NODDY Holder has plenty to shout about when it comes to making sure underprivileged children have a Christmas to remember.
The Slade singer was on hand to appeal for readers to support the Pioneer and BiG Storage Christmas Appeal.
The Pioneer has joined forces with BiG Storage to make sure there are plenty of gifts for underprivileged and vulnerable children with the donations going to Northop Hall-based Save the Family.
We are asking Pioneer readers to bring some much needed seasonal cheer, and it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money to donate a gift.
We’re appealing for new gifts, so look out for the ‘buy one get one free’ or ‘three for the price of two’ deals.
Any unwanted gifts from last year would also be welcome.
The children receiving the gifts will be of all ages up to 16. They deserve a special Christmas just as we all do, so please don’t leave it to the last minute.
Noddy said: “I am delighted once again to be part of the Christmas toy appeal. We are always overwhelmed by the generosity of the local community.
“Please spare a thought for those children that would not get any presents at all if it were not for appeals like this and the generosity of more fortunate families in the community.”
Save the Family is dedicated to helping homeless families and individuals in their time of need.
The charity, which has been operating for 34 years, offers emergency accommodation, adult training facilities and emotional support to help homeless families and individuals settle back into the community.
Edna Speed MBE, founder of Save the Family said: “Children in poverty at any time of the year is unacceptable, however Christmas with all its promise can be the saddest time of all and emphasises that poverty.”
BiG Storage Chester, the driving force behind the toy appeal, is the main drop-off point for the donated toys.
The donations will then be stored in the ‘grotto’ until they are needed for Christmas delivery to the children.
