THE Air Training Corps’ 1074 (Ellesmere Port) Squadron has just seen the successful graduation of its second recruit class.
At the end of last year, the squadron started with set intakes for new cadets.
Previously, new cadets were allowed to sign up for the squadron on any night.
But now they are only allowed to join on assigned nights which come around every three months.
The idea is that the new cadets would go through all their classes together and graduate at the same time, making new friends along the way.
Eight cadets have just graduated. They are now fully enrolled members of the corps, and get to wear their first-class badges.
This means that they are entitled to do many activities, including the next flying list.
The squadron’s next recruit intake is in October or November.
