WHY oh why are we concerned about the proposal to build an incinerator in Lostock?
If CHAIN will just join with me, as I suggested ages ago, and state they will physically stop it happening by blocking the roads into the site the proposal would die a death quite quickly.
There must be hundreds, if not thousands of people in Northwich who are totally opposed to the idea. Get them together, block the road for a day or so to show we mean business, and the company planning to build here will go on their way.
But we have to SHOW them we mean business.
I will attempt, on my own if necessary, to stop any vehicle that is bringing in supplies to build the incinerator. I won’t stop them on my own, but in years to come when our kids start dying from diseases caused by this infernal idea I will be able to hold up my head and say I did ALL I could to prevent it, not hanging my head in shame that I let it happen.
We live, not in a true democracy, but a parliamentary democracy, which means that sometimes, many times, the will of the majority does not prevail.
But it can win by refusing to bow to the will of big business by banding together and fighting them tooth and nail.
SO IT is the first time that Ms Green has heard that swearing is normal behaviour (Chronicle September 24)? Š
I have news for Ms Green, because that opinion is widespread in the court service. I had a long chat with a employee of the Dorset Probation Service who said, and I quote: “Adults should expect to be sworn at by children, as this is normal behaviour.
“Adults who expect respect from children, have a deep flaw in their character.”
When I pointed out they were therefore a part of the problem, rather than the solution, she looked uncomfortable, but never withdrew her statements.
Perhaps the local probation service could give us their considered opinion on this? ŠI would be interested to see if this is still their policy.

Idiots be aware
COULD I please draw attention to the idiots who cut through the road works on Wharton Road, by Ledward Street in Winsford.
This has NEVER been an access point for School Road. And yet since the NO ENTRY barrier has gone up those drivers that can’t be bothered going round the bypass think its ok to cut through this barrier into School Road and into on- coming traffic.
Twice now I have gone down School Road to get onto Wharton Road, to come face to face with an idiot who has cut through to get up School Road.
Please note I’ve informed the police of both incidents. In future, idiots – do like we all have to do, and use the bypass!
