ANTROBUS is to benefit from an environmental programme which will improve the village’s sewage system.
United Utilities will build a small pumping station below ground with two kiosks above ground on Well Lane behind the properties on Wheatsheaf Lane.
There will be no odour or noise as the treatment works process units will be covered.
Work is due to begin next week and should take about six months to complete.
Project co-ordinator Matthew Steer said: “Our new pumping station will ensure sewage treatment in Antrobus now meets requirements of the Environment Agency.”
