THOUSANDS will descend on Cholmondeley Castle tomorrow (Saturday) for the start of the venue’s ambitious first two-day Pageant of Power.
High-powered historic and modern cars will set records on a newly-created track through the sprawling grounds.
Powerboats will race on the mere and the UK’s largest gathering of modern and historic helicopters will fly in. The organisers are promising fun for all the family.
There will be live music and artisan food stalls, a vintage fair, teeming with rides and attractions including mini motorbike and go-kart rides, as well as competitions and other activities.
“Although the focus is inevitably on the cars, boats, bikes and planes, we have deliberately set out to create an event that anyone will enjoy,” said pageant director James Hall.
“While safety is of paramount importance, when the machines are stationary we want our guests to be able to mingle with the competitors. Our aim is to create a slightly noisier than normal garden party.”
Tickets are £25 per adult per day for pre-booked tickets or £30 if purchased on the day. Tickets for the two-day event are priced £40 a head and can be bought their website www.pageantofpower.com/tickets or by phoning 01264 882200. Entry for under-16s is free.
