COLWYN Bay manager Gary Finley is hoping the weather is on his side tonight to allow his team to face Alsager Town in a Division One South fixture at Llanelian Road (7.45pm).

The Seagulls already faced a backlog of league games due to their cup successes, but now the recent bad weather has put them further behind schedule.

A waterlogged pitch caused Saturday’s match at Alsager to be postponed, leaving the Bay stuck in 12th place in the table.

“We can still make the play-offs if we go on a run, but we need games,” said Finley. “This weather has really scuppered things.

“We need to be playing regularly to get into a rhythm, especially as I have new signings to bed in.”

The two latest recruits from the Conference North – Anthony Wright, who arrives from Vauxhall Motors, and attacking midfielder Joe Fowler from Barrow – hope to make their debuts tonight.

Fowler, 21, won the Conference North championship with Droylsden last season before moving to Barrow in August.

Wright has played for Hyde United, Barrow, Droylsden and TNS.

“We won 3-2 at Alsager at the start of the season and must fancy our chances at home,” added Finley.

“In our last home game we beat Warrington 7-1 so I’d settle for something near that.”
