COLWYN BAY manager Steve Pope was in subdued mood after his side's 2-0 home defeat against Wrexham, writes Tim Channon.

The Seagulls lost to strikes from Carl Tremarco and Shaun Whalley at Llanelian Road on Saturday.

Pope said: "I was very disappointed with our performance.

“I don't know if we were overawed or what, but we didn't seem to want the ball and we didn't do any of the things we did well the other night against Tranmere.”

The manager added: "We were better in the second half when Wrexham couldn't get through us.

“We also created two very good chances late in the game when Dean Canning and Rob Hopley should have scored, but overall we have to do much better than that."
