A HOST of honours have been handed out to deserving recipients in the Ellesmere Port and Neston Scout District.

The district held its annual presentation evening on Friday with guests including MP Andrew Miller, mayor Angela Claydon and Cheshire Scouts county commissioner Graham Phillips.

The event was an opportunity to reward young people for their work and to mark the many years of service of some of their leaders.

District commissioner Sue Goddard said: “We run a fun, challenging and adventurous programme for all the young people who attend our groups, and it’s pleasing to be able to recognise their achievements.

“Equally, we couldn’t run a wide variety of activities without the support of our leaders and helpers and it’s important that their contribution is celebrated.”

A variety of presentations took place, including Chief Scout’s Awards at each level from bronze to platinum, Duke of Edinburgh bronze and gold awards, the Queen’s Scout Award and hiking prizes.
