CLOSURE notices for two Ellesmere Port high schools have been withdrawn to allow further consultation.

More than 10,000 consultation forms were sent out to those affected by the plan but it has emerged that some people did not receive it.

Therefore to ensure that everyone has their say education chiefs have decided to re-start the process.

The move also allows them to hold more talks about the selection of the site for the proposed academy, which would replace Cheshire Oaks and Ellesmere Port Specialist School of Performing Arts (EPSSPA).

Children’s Services executive member David Rowlands will be asked to re-start the process next Monday, but the fresh round of consultation is not expected to affect the timescale of plans to establish an academy by September this year.
