These aerial shots show the true scale of Frodsham Festival of Football.
Hundreds of footballers and spectators descended on Helsby High School for the annual competition last month (June 25-26).
Organised by Frodsham Juniors FC, a massive 190 teams from under 7s through to under 13s played out 562 fixtures across the weekend.
Frodsham JFC chairman John Heath said: “This year’s Festival of Football was a tremendous success.
“I would like to thank all of the countless volunteers and festival partners; St Johns Ambulance, Frodsham and District Round Table and Frodsham Ladies Circle who have helped to set up and run the tournament.
“In addition we are very grateful to Helsby High School for their support in hosting the festival, we hope our partnership will continue to grow for many years.”
The JFC had some success of its own as the girls under 9s squad triumphed in their home tournament.
There was also a brave defence of their title for the under 11 boys as they made it back to the final only to be scuppered by AFC Waverton.
Frodsham JFC’s Girls’ Under 9s Manager Chris Jennings said: “It was a much deserved result for the girls who had played an attractive brand of passing football all season and they were finally rewarded for all their efforts.
“The girls, parents and guardians all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it capped off a great end to their first season. Roll on next year."
Plans are already in place for the 2017 festival which will hopefully be ‘bigger and better’ as the competition continues to grow.
