A SUPERMARKET has told of its hopes for a new store in the centre of Neston.

Sainsbury’s, along with developers CTP, has submitted a joint planning application to the borough council.

The scheme comprises a 35,000 sq ft food store with a café and parking for 238 cars.

Designed by Faulkner Browns, it also includes community facilities, 14 residential units and a new town square as part of a massive town centre upgrade.

The application follows a development brief produced by the council in response to a decline in Neston’s local trace visiting and shopping numbers.
