THE National Waterways Museum in Ellesmere Port has a full schedule of events for the school summer holidays.
Animal Week takes place from Monday-Friday, July 21-25 inclusive.
Traditional Games Week will be staged from Monday-Friday, July 28-August 1, with hop-scotch, The Big Skip, snakes and ladders and marbles.
Monday-Friday, August 4-8 sees the return of the Vikings as the Wirhalh Skip Felag re-enactment society leads a week-long invasion of the museum.
Between Monday and Friday, August 11-15 it’s Meccano & Science Madness. The North West Meccano Guild presents a week of children’s workshops and science-themed attractions.
The weekend of August 16 and 17 sees the return of the Age of Steam.
Enthusiasts and museum visitors can enjoy the spectacle of traction engines large and small alongside other vehicles of the past.
Pirates Week sails in from August 18-22, featuring lots of themed fun and children’s activities and workshops.
The swashbuckling fun continues into the Bank Holiday weekend with the Pirates from Plantagenet Events as they invade the Port on Sunday and Monday, August 24 and 25.
Before the return to school, the museum hosts Come and Build a Boat from Tuesday-Friday, August 26-29.
