Expect lightning-quick times as runners descend on Kingsley for the Mid-Cheshire 5k.

About 500 athletes are expected to take to the course for the second time in the race’s history on Thursday, April 28.

The 5km route starts and finishes on Mill Lane with Kingsley Cricket Club as ‘HQ’ and a rolling road closure following runners round.

Event director Mike Harrington said: “Last year we introduced this race to the Cheshire calendar and the feedback we received was fantastic.

“Many runners came and achieved personal best times and word has spread on the PB potential of the course.

“Some of the great local running clubs like Helsby, Altrincham and Wilmslow have also included this race in their club championships so the standard is even higher and we suspect both the male and female course records will fall.

“The local community have really taken to the race and Kingsley Parish Council have been involved in the planning too.”

Due to the success of its first year, Cheshire Athletics Association have included the Mid-Cheshire 5k in their Grand Prix series of races.
