VALE Royal Borough Council is encouraging romantics to go green this Valentine’s Day.

In a series of Low Carbon Love roadshows across the borough, a team of experts will give advice on showing love for the planet as well as each other.

The roadshows are part of the council’s “Supporting my Local Environment” (SMYLE) campaign.

People who attemd a roadshow can pick up an “I love to SMYLE” guide and other giveaways.

The council says that cards, flowers, presents and meals out all add up to a significant use of energy for just one day. Most of the energy comes from fossil fuels that release greenhouse gases that cause climate change.

The Low Carbon Love team will be telling people how to reduce the negative impacts of romantic gestures on Valentine’s Day and how make the day even more special for a loved one.

The roadshow will be in Northwich on

Saturday (11am – 2pm), Winsford next Thursday (11am – 2pm), Saturday, February 9 in Tarporley (11am – 2pm) and in Frodsham on Thursday, February 14 (11am – 2pm).
