NIGHTINGALE House fundraisers are delighted Bryan Adams travelled to Wrexham in style with Bluestone Cars as it will mean a considerable boost to the hospice funds.

Ray Squires, who runs the executive chauffeur service, sent two cars to pick up the singer and his band from the airport for their appearance at the Children in Need Concert and while in transit Bryan took the opportunity to change his clothes.

The chauffeur later found he had left a pair of socks behind on the back seat of the car.

Ray said: 'I told the tour manager about the wonderful work they do at Nightingale House and Mr Adams signed a copy of his latest CD Room Service, which will be donated to Nightingale House and auctioned.'

The discarded socks have now appeared on the eBay auction website and proceeds from the sale will also go to Nightingale House. Bidding will be closed tomorrow, Friday, December 17.

Louise Elliott, fundraiser at the hospice, said: 'We were really delighted and very grateful when Ray gave us the signed CD, which will go into our Auction of Promises in April next year. Now we are eagerly awaiting the sale of his socks which will give us a further boost to our funds.'
