A MAN suffered head injuries when he was attacked by robbers wielding a machete and a gun.

Three men forced their way into a house on Benty Heath Lane, Willaston, at approximately 9.30pm on Thursday last week.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “The occupant of the property, a 36-year-old man, received head injuries as a result of the attack.

“He was then forcibly restrained inside the property whilst the men made a search of the premises and stole cash, before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. The men were armed with a machete and a handgun.

“It is not known at this stage whether the handgun was a genuine or imitation firearm.”

Detectives are still gathering evidence from the scene and at this stage are not ruling out the possibility that this incident may be linked to others committed recently in the Cheshire and Wirral areas.
