RHYL have provided further proof of their lofty ambitions this season by signing two players with experience at Premier League and Football League clubs.

Striker Matthew Williams, 25, and defender Greg Strong, 32, have become the latest additions to the Lilywhites squad for the new season.

Williams, who hails from Denbigh and is a Wales under-21 international, joined Manchester United as a 16-year-old and spent five years at Old Trafford.

He has also played for League Two Notts County and Conference side Burton Albion.

“A few Conference and League of Wales clubs showed an interest in signing me, but I chose Rhyl because they have treated me so fantastically well,” said Williams.

Strong, 32, has played for 16 clubs since starting his career with Wigan Athletic in 1992.

A former England youth international, he featured in the Premier League for Bolton and has played for Motherwell, Livingston and Dundee.
