Rhyl 2 Llanelli 2

RHYL twice had to come from behind before pocketing the priceless point they needed to secure runners-up spot and cement their fourth consecutive European adventure.

Rhyl found themselves hit by a Rhys Griffiths goal as the league's leading marksman put away a Lee Phillips free-kick with a header on 24 minutes.

Mark Connelly made it all-square with a shot inside the area 10 minutes later, but Rhyl went to sleep as Jacob Mingorance was allowed to run onto a through-ball straight from the restart and beat Paul Whitfield to instantly restore Llanelli's lead.

Worse followed when Rhyl lost both George Horan with a bad head injury, despite him playing on until half-time, and dangerman Lee Hunt.

Both players were substituted at the break and Rhyl came out fired up.

They dominated the second half to secure that vital point and kill off Llanelli's hopes of overtaking them. Connolly again laid on the free-kick for Dave Cameron to glance home an equalising header.
