SIR, I would like to congratulate Ian Mealor, the waste manager and all Ellesmere Port and Neston Borough Council Staff involved in the collection of waste and recycling.
It took the team less than a week to recover from the break in service recently.
Collections are now back to normal thanks to their hard work and determination.
Their usual excellent service, which the borough has enjoyed for many years, will now be resumed.
Thank you to all concerned.

What progress?
SIR, I see that the politicians continue to use your paper to sling mud (letters page re: regeneration in Ellesmere Port).
The article I’d really like to read now, in response to all the talk and promises, is a comparison of track records.
What regeneration has been done by the council in Ellesmere Port over the last 10 years or so and how does this compare to what other councils like Chester have done in that time?
