FRANKIE & Benny’s on The Coliseum in Ellesmere Port is serving a host of new dishes following the relaunch of its menu.
I was invited to go along to the New York Italian restaurant and bar for a special VIP night on Wednesday to try some of the new delicacies ahead of their launch the next day. I wasn’t disappointed.
The 50s-style UK chain now boasts a much wider range of breads and appetisers including garlic bread and garlic and tomato pesto bread, both of which were very generous servings.
Also added to the menu is bruschetta, prawn cocktail, and mozzarella and tomato salad.
There is also a host of new mains including pizza and pasta dishes, burgers and sandwiches and the impressive house specials.
For Italian lovers, the restaurant offers a cajun chicken pizza as well as a barbecue meatball topping.
The new pasta dishes include chicken carbonara, pesto chicken and spicy sausage. There is also a barbecue chicken bake and spinach and ricotta cannelloni.
Added to the array of burgers already on offer is the new black pepper and mayo and there is now a meatball sub to try as well as a cajun salmon caesar salad.
New house specials include Frankie’s chicken dinner, served with vegetables and a choice of peppercorn sauce or onion gravy, as well as salt and pepper scampi, oven baked pesto salmon and American style meatloaf.
