RESPONSIBILITY for Neston Cross war memorial was raised at a meeting of Cheshire West and Chester Council.

Little Neston and Burton borough councillor and Neston town councillor Kay Loch (Con) asked community portfolio holder Cllr Lynn Riley (Con) if she could ‘ensure all appropriate measures are taken to maintain and protect this vital part of our history’.

Cllr Riley replied: ““The council carries out an inspection regime on the memorials; this is currently every three years as per other operational building assets.

“Any response remedial works are actioned as and when required.”
