PENSIONERS at Grange Court, Winsford, are busy trying their hands at a variety of new hobbies in a bid to raise money for a new TV.

A room at the Weaver Vale Housing Trust retirement home at Saxon Crossway has been transformed into an inspiring craft room for residents to enjoy card-making, gentle exercise classes, coffee mornings and other activities.

Hand-crafted cards made by the tenants are being sold at the Trust’s headquarters, as well as to friends and family of residents at Grange Court.

Manager Chris Tomlinson said: “We are trying to raise money for a plasma TV for the lounge. The residents often have DVD nights and it would be brilliant for them to have a nice big TV they can all see.”

Age Concern Cheshire is also organising exercise classes and more craft activities are being lined up for the tenants.
