TWIN brothers from The Grange School RC were part of a victorious England squad at an international regatta in Cardiff on Saturday.

John and Ed Ford, 18, finished third in the men’s junior double sculls behind Scotland and Wales at Cardiff Bay, a week after winning their fourth national championships gold medal in the same event.

The England team were overall winners though, and Graham Jump, head of The Grange RC, said it is a fitting farewell to the brothers, who are both off to university in September.

“They did great - what a way to finish their rowing with the school,” said Graham. “They were both elated to get the call up, and there was only a boat length between the three crews.”

He added: “Everyone at the school is chuffed for them and wishes them the best of luck for the future.”
