NORTH Wales Fire Service wants to recruit retained firefighters for Chirk fire station.

Chris Nott, county operations manager for the Wrexham Area, said: "We are looking for both male and female recruits who are enthusiastic and can demonstrate common sense, commitment and dedication to serve especially during the daytime hours at the station.

“North Wales Fire and Rescue Service provide close-knit, highly trained teams.

"Retained personnel are community firefighters providing essential fire and emergency cover.

“We are looking for suitable individuals who can travel to their local station within four minutes of being paged for a call out.”

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, with a good standard of physical fitness.

In addition to monthly retaining fees, payments are made for turnouts, attendance and drill nights.
