MID Cheshire will be represented at both first and second team levels in this year’s Cheshire League Twenty20 finals day.
Weaverham 1sts will take on Brooklands, currently top of Division One, after victory at fellow Division Two promotion hopefuls Barrow in the semi-final last week.
They had already disposed of Bunbury, Davenham, Winsford and Cholmondeley en route to the semis, and booked their place in the final for the first time ever on Thursday night.
Weaverham batted first and finished on 132-8, with in-form opener Steve Robertson top scoring with 53.
Chris Hemmings (2-22) was the pick of the bowlers as Brooklands were restricted to on 120-7.
And Barnton 2nds will join them on finals day at Cheshire County Sports, Chester on August 31 after cruising to victory against Davenham.
Division A Davenham set the Division B pace setters a victory target of 103. Barnton’s reply was measured and they never fell behind the required run rate, with Paul Sant smashing a couple of big sixes to see them home with 13 balls and seven wickets to spare.
They also play Brooklands in the final.
