BOOKMAKER Corbett’s has donated one of its high profile races to Wrexham-based Nightingale House Hospice.
The bookmaker, based in Garden City in Flintshire, has donated the 4pm race at Chester’s Roodee on August 30, The Corbett Charity Donation Nightingale House Hospice EBF Conditions Stakes, to the charity to try and raise awareness of the hospice.
Michael Corbett, Corbett’s managing director, said: “We are delighted to dedicate one of the region’s top races to the Nightingale House Hospice.
“Corbett's is well known in the region and we are delighted to be able to help Nightingale House Hospice increase the awareness to the community that it serves, whilst helping to secure long-term sustainable funding for the wide range of specialist palliative care services on offer at the hospice, such as the day care unit, the in-patients ward, the medical outpatients clinics and the specialist bereavement services for children.”
John Savage, chief executive of NHH, added: “We are absolutely thrilled to be involved in such an exciting event as this at Chester Racecourse and we value the support Corbett’s is providing immensely.”
