YALE College has been acclaimed the highest quality organisation in Wales.

Following its achievement of Best Newcomer in 2007, this year Yale College has been announced as the Overall Winner of the Wales Quality Award.

The awards were presented at an event in Cardiff where Yale also achieved the Learner Award.

The college was praised for its excellent performance in leadership, policies and partnerships designed to achieve and record outstanding results.

Based on the EFQM European Excellence Model, the assessment process for this award is well known for being rigorous and places the college at the impressive level of the full European Quality Award.

Delighted principal, Paul Croke said: “This is a pinnacle of achievement for the college in its quest for excellence and is an outstanding contribution to further education in Wales.

“To win this award during Colleges’ Week, a UK wide week celebrating the contribution of colleges to learning, is especially relevant.”

Jon Cartmell, director of standards and performance at the college, added: “Yale College is a vibrant learning community.

“This award is a tribute to the sustained hard work carried out by students and staff in our aim to achieve world class standards in further and higher education, adult and community learning and work-based learning.”
