PUPILS of St Joseph’s Catholic High School, Wrexham, had the chance to cross swamps, deactivate bombs and navigate minefields as part of an Army activity event.

Activities for the Year 9 pupils included negotiating a swamp using planks and barrels, finding and deactivating a ‘bomb’, assembling a 9ft tent while blindfolded and co-ordinating each other around an assault course using ropes and planks.

John Mann, work related education coordinator at St Joseph’s, said: “It was a brilliant day and the children really enjoyed it.

“It teaches pupils the importance of being positive, team building and working together.”
