RHOSTYLLEN Primary School will try to become Fairtrade friendly from now on.

The school visited the Co-op in Market Street, Rhos, to collect Fairtrade packs.

These packs contained Fairtrade chocolate and fruit and information on what Fairtrade is and how it helps food producers in the Third World receive a fair price for their goods.

Co-op is the UK's leading supermarket supporter of Fairtrade.

Ruth Brown, manager of the Market Street Co-op, said: 'Children love to help others and like the idea of Fairtrade because simply by buying an everyday product such as a banana or cake from the Fairtrade range, they are helping to make a real difference to the lives of people in developing countries.'
