MEMBERS of the public are being invited to have their say on a proposed development to enable over-60s to enjoy independent living.

Cheshire County Council is planning to create an extra care housing scheme on the site of the former Gorsthills Primary School.

The development would provide purpose-built apartments within a landscaped site with access to a 24-hour care team as well as a range of communal facilities designed to promote health and well-being.

Artists’ impressions will be on display at a public consultation event held at the Berry Road site from 10am-4pm next Wednesday, July 30 and at the authority’s OSCAR bus outside the market entrance in the town centre the day after, Thursday, also between 10am and 4pm.

Visitors will be able to find out more about the development and register their views.
