IMPROVEMENTS to the play area and equipment at Festival Park may be chosen by the public.

Residents and interest groups are being asked by Cheshire West and Chester Council to give their views on improving the play area and equipment at the Ellesmere Port site.

The equipment uses natural materials to encourage traditional play activities.

It was announced in April that more than £1m will be spent on 22 new and improved children’s play areas across the borough over the next two years.

Play leaders have been working with local children, aged eight to 13 who live close to the selected play areas, to help choose the play equipment.

Residents and interested groups can discuss ideas for the play area with landscape architects at an informal local drop-in session today at the Acorns School, Junior Department, Pooltown Road, Ellesmere Port, from 3-5pm.

Anyone unable to attend the drop-in session can get further information by phoning 0151 356 6994 or visit www.playwest.co.uk
