WEIRD and wonderful egg decorations won prizes for youngsters at the Port Arcades.

The winner of this year’s Easter colouring competition at the Port Arcades Shopping Centre was presented with a family ticket to the Blue Planet Aquarium on Friday.

Lots of young budding artists from Ellesmere Port and surrounding areas entered the ever popular annual competition, and the Arcades received many fantastically decorated eggs and bunnies.

Port Arcades spokeswoman Lonneke Rushton-van Hal said: “Due to the large number of entries and the very high standards of the artworks we received, the Port Arcades have decided to not only present the one lucky winner with their prize, but also award five runners-up prizes.”

The winner of the family ticket was Ryan Stringer, seven, who drew a picture of a diver swimming with fish on his egg.

The runner-up prizes went to William Manning, five, from Ellesmere Port for his creation of an egg filled with sharks and scary spiders, Chloe Johnson, nine, from Ellesmere Port for her drawing of an Easter bunny with a basket of eggs, Reece Fishwick, five, from Ellesmere Port for his Easter chick egg, Megan Green, 11, for her egg filled with a sunset with fish in the sea and to Joshua Sadler, five, for his Easter bunny egg with big pink ears.
