PRESTATYN Town, who have a 12-point cushion at the top of the table, hope to welcome back striker Jonathan Fisher-Cooke against today’s opponents Llanfairpwll at Bastion Road.

The pacy former Rhyl player has been out for seven weeks with a hamstring injury, but resumed training a fortnight ago and is now ready to be included in player-manager Neil Gibson’s squad.

“A final decision will be taken nearer the kick off but it’s good to have a player of Jon’s proven ability fit and available again,” said Prestatyn’s assistant manager Martyn Jones.

“We have some tough tests coming up at the end of the month when we face several of our main rivals but at the moment things are going well.

“Every other team in the league would like to be our position at this moment but we are taking nothing for granted and aim to remain focused.”

Improved Glantraeth, who have won four times in six games to rise to seventh spot, travel to third-placed Flint Town today, writes Keith Evans.

“We are playing well, at the moment”, said Glantraeth’s manager Paul Whelan. “After a shaky start to the season, the squad have settled well and we expect to be virtually unchanged, after our impressive 4-0 home result against Penrhyncoch.”

Defender Jonathan Peris Jones, who marked his switch to attack by scoring a hat-trick, will again be up front and midfielder Nigel Barry will resume after illness.

Guilsfield will be out to avoid a shock when they journey to struggling Llanidloes Town in today’s third round of the Central Wales Cup, writes John Bridgwater.

It’s a reversal of roles for the Cymru Alliance side who pulled off a couple of Welsh Cup surprises earlier this term.

Despite being firm favourites, manager Graham Evans admits his side need to remain focused against the Spar Mid Wales League outfit.

“This is a potential banana skin for us,” he said. “I know that Llanidloes are not doing that well this season but they will raise their game.

“Having done so well in the Welsh Cup, we now don’t want to be on the wrong end of a cup shock ourselves. We need to treat them like we would a Cymru Alliance side. I’ll be stressing to the players they can’t take anything for granted.”

The Guils will be without the suspended Lee Davies, while Mike Cockram has joined Welshpool.
