Subject: Yellow Pages distributors
Once again it is the time for the new Yellow Pages telephone directories to be delivered, and once again it is being done without thought of the consequences to the homeowners.
These delivery people are leaving a book at nearly every house, whether there is anyone there or not. Having walked down Middlewich Rd to Northwich yesterday, three days after the deliveries had taken place, I noticed that at least seven properties had still got a book on or near the front steps.
This cannot be right? These people may be on holiday, working away or not at the property for a variety of reasons. Then someone leaves a bright yellow book on the doorstep to advertise to everyone that the property is empty and ripe for breaking into.

I have walked home before now to find pages and pages floating round the streets where some little muppet or other has decided to shred them, rendering them useless to anyone.
With all the 118 combinations and internet directory enquiries I don’t see why we need them at all. Can’t we just save a tree (although I don’t know of many yellow trees) and consign them to the dustbin (or should that be recycling plant) of history?
