WREXHAM'S scheduled trip to Peterborough United on Saturday, October 8, has been postponed because of the Dragons international call-ups.

Clubs need to have at least three players on international duty at under-21 level or above and Wrexham already knew they would be without centre-back Dennis Lawrence who is jetting off across the Atlantic to play his part in Trinidad & Tobago's World Cup bid.

However, midfielder Mark Jones and right-back Simon Spender were yesterday chosen for the Wales U21 squads for the double-header with Germany in Braunschweig on Friday, October 7, and Azerbaijan in Newport on Tuesday, October 11.

Denis Smith's side have now reached their compliment of three in order to get the game postponed and that figure could actually increase to five as Levi Mackin is on standby for the Wales U21s while injured keeper Michael Ingham could yet recover to figure for Northern Ireland.

Wrexham's football secretary, Geraint Parry, said: "The game was called off after the U21 squad was announced and we're in the process of arranging a new date."
