PORTHMADOG are hoping for a better campaign after their last-gasp escape from relegation last season.

New manager Paul Whelan says: “Hopefully we’ll get off to a good start. The lads have been training hard and we’re getting there slowly, but all you can ask of the players is for them to give their best.”

KEY PLAYERS: “We’ve got John Rowley up front and Marcus Orlik in midfield who are both very good players, and we’ve signed Chris Jones from Llangefni who’s a very good striker.

“Rhys Roberts in defence and Ryan Davies in midfield are going to be important, but it’s a team effort and we’ve all got to give 100%.”

TITLE PREDICTION: “Rhyl have brought in some great players and will be up there.”
