WELSHPOOL will bolster their defence for tonight’s home Loosemores Cup group clash with Newtown.

Geraint Windsor and John Keegan return after missing last weekend’s 3-0 loss to Porthmadog.

“Our defensive play was abysmal last Saturday so we need to bounce back,” said boss Tomi Morgan. “But it was our first defeat in six games so you can’t be too hard on the lads.”

Newtown defender Hugh Clarke has a neck injury, while Mattie Lewis faces a fitness check.

Assistant boss Mike Davies admits the Robins need to improve despite sinking Llangefni last weekend, adding: “We started off well but were fortunate to get the points.”
