POLICE have issued an e-fit of a burglar who stole cash from an elderly woman’s home after posing as a water board official.

The conman struck at the 78-year-old’s home at Ford Court, Winsford at about 1.45pm on February 26.

A police spokeswoman said: “A man called at the house claiming to be from the water board, asking the woman to turn on her taps.

“He later left on foot and walked in the direction of Durham Drive. After he had gone the victim discovered a quantity of cash had been stolen.”

“The man is described as white with black hair, and is believed to be in his 30s. He was wearing a white shirt, black trousers and black gloves.”
