ONE person was left in shock when two windows were blown out by an explosion in an Ellesmere Port flat.

Two fire engines from Ellesmere Port attended the scene on Grafton Road, Westminster, just after 5.30pm on Thursday.

Firefighters arrived at the ground-floor flat to find there was no fire and examined the building for signs of structural damage.

Two windows were blown out in the incident but there was no apparent damage to the rest of the building.

Cheshire police also attended and the cause of the incident is under investigation.

Cheshire Constabulary spokeswoman Rachel Hayes said: “Police are not treating it as suspicious at this time, but it is not thought to be gas related and there are no signs of a fire.”
