A MANHUNT is under way after a gun was brandished by a man with links to Ellesmere Port.

Police are appealing for the whereabouts of Sam Dean Clark, 24,  following an armed robbery committed in Chester on Friday, March 30.

Detectives  are appealing  for help to trace Clark after the incident in Guilden Sutton at about 9.45pm on Friday, March 30.

Clark has links in the Chester and Ellesmere Port areas.

DCI Paul Beauchamp said: “We are keen to trace Sam Clark as part of the investigation into a report of a robbery on School Lane, Guilden Sutton, where reports were made to police of a firearm being sighted.

“Although no firearm was discharged and no injuries were reported we take incidents of this nature extremely seriously and a full investigation into the circumstances are ongoing.”

Patrols in the area have been stepped up to offer residents reassurance their safety of the public is the priority of the police, who say there is not believed to be any risk to the public as a whole.

DCI Beauchamp added: “Although we do not believe that Clark poses a risk to the public as a whole, he potentially has access to firearms or imitation firearms.

“We advise the public not to approach Sam Clark if sighted and report any information or sightings to Cheshire police.

“Similarly, I would appeal to Sam himself to come forward and contact us or present himself at his nearest police station so that enquiries into this incident can be continued.”

Anyone with any information on Clark’s whereabouts should call Cheshire Constabulary on 101.
