THIEVES who stole a goose from its home at Burrows Hill, Hartford are being sought by police.
But cops want residents to join the hunt because the crooks left neither fingerprints nor footprints at the scene.
Although they have no description of the hostage, valued at £8, police say it was stolen between 8pm of Wednesday and 9pm Thursday.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “There were no witnesses and initial enquiries have revealed there is no forensic evidence to pursue and therefore no current lines of inquiry.
“The theft of a goose might raise a few eyebrows but it’s a crime nonetheless and if a line of inquiry is put forward it will be investigated.”
