A COMPANY bidding to take over the repairs and maintenance of Ellesmere Port’s council houses has been named the 20th best company to work for in the UK.

At The Sunday Times’s Best Companies awards in London, Neighbourhood investor Plus Dane Group moved up 14 places from last year.

Plus Dane’s chief executive Ken Perry, who comes from Ellesmere Port and started his housing career in the town, said: “Plus Dane invests its profits back into the communities it serves, helping to create great places to live, fighting health inequality and offering opportunities for jobs, training and self-development.

“Only the very best people work for Plus Dane and we will continue to meet their aspirations by supporting a healthy work-life balance, nurturing career development and ensuring all staff are treated with respect.”

The Best Companies survey looks at all aspects of the employee experience, including pay and conditions, opportunities for personal and professional growth, benefits such as free health cover, flexi-time, holidays and more.

Judges were particularly impressed with Plus Dane’s commitment to staff training, an offer it has extended to tenants of its near 13,000 homes throughout Merseyside and Cheshire.

This year, Plus Dane will spend £6.4m building 65 homes for affordable rent on former industrial land on Rossfield Park.
